Our top three wildflower spots
Wildflower season is well and truly upon us, making this one of the best times during the year to explore local parks and bushlands. You’ll be amazed by the variety of colours on display. To help get you started, here are our top three spots tried and tested.
-
Bungendore Park: This 498 hectare Bushland Reserve displays a wide range of soils, resulting in well over 300 different plant species. The park certainly lives up to its name with blossoms blooming throughout, in local Noongar language Bungendore means ‘place of the gum blossom’.
-
Armadale Settlers Common: A perfect spot for small children or beginner walkers with a network of walk trails throughout. Keep your eye out for Blue Leschenaultia, native to the south-west of Western Australia.
-
Lesmurdie Falls: The dramatic scenery that surrounds the falls is made even more beautiful this time of year with buds of colour bursting throughout. Allow extra time for spectacular views from the lookout and to explore several walk trails throughout the park.
Collect maps, wildflower books and more local insider tips from the Perth Hills Armadale Visitor Centre.

Boost for Tourism Operators with new Liquor Reform
From 13 September, accredited tourism operators are able to supply alcohol on their tours in a bid to elevate the importance of tourism in Western Australia.
Accredited operators now have the opportunity to offer a unique hospitality experience, for example serving wine at a barbeque or create a dining experience whilst touring an attraction.
Under these new regulations an agreement will be held between the Director of Liquor Licensing and the Tourism Council of WA to ensure that tour providers continue to operate to an excellent standard, with the responsible service of alcohol.
