Overview

The Independent Way
Self-guided walking and camping with a backpack is a satisfying and inexpensive way to experience the track. The campsites along the route are in delightful locations not more than a day's walk apart. Each offer a three sided timber sleeping shelter, picnic table, water tank, tent sites and toilet. Some campsites also have fireplaces but the use of fuel stoves is encouraged.

Easy Day Walks
A series of Day Walk map packs are available for six locations along the track which provide all the information needed to get you strated. While walking you can look out for one of WA's most spectacular birds and help scientists to ensure their long term protection.  Packs include a plastic map carrier, day walk itineraries ('out and back' or 'one way' using local transport providers), map and information about the red-tailed black cockatoo. A list of short and multi-day walk suggestions can be found in the track guide books.

Comfort and Convenience

Bibbulmun Walking Breaks give you the chance to walk independently at your own pace but return to the comforts of hot showers, home-cooking and soft bed. Based aroung rural towns along the track, each with their own unique flavour, the minimum two-night packages include a choice of accommodation (B&B or self-catering), all food, walk transfers, map, and directional notes for a selection of day-walk options. Packages can be tailor-made to cater for a short getaway or a holiday of up to three weeks.
