The Serpentine Dam has a large picnic area, free gas barbeques, a playground and toilets. If you prefer a casual meal in a comfortable setting, "Cafe on the Dam" is located near the main car park.

Serpentine River became a potential water supply source, which marked the beginning of the Serpentine Scheme.
